Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit Criticizes Delhi Exit Polls

Sandeep Dikshit Criticizes Delhi Exit Polls, Claims AAP Underestimated

Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit has expressed disappointment with the Delhi exit polls, suggesting they’ve underestimated AAP and misrepresented the election results. He predicted that Congress would secure 17-18% of the votes and disagreed with the suggestion that the BJP might return to power after 27 years.

Dikshit told ANI that while the exit polls predict a BJP win, they have portrayed AAP as weaker than it is. He believes the poll results don’t reflect the true picture and added that February 8 will reveal the actual outcome.

What Exit Polls Predicted

Exit polls offered varying predictions for the Delhi Assembly elections:

  • P-MARQ poll: BJP with 39-49 seats, AAP with 21-31 seats, Congress with 0-1 seat.
  • Matrize poll: A close race between BJP and AAP, with BJP likely to win 35-40 seats and AAP 32-37 seats.
  • Peoples Pulse poll: BJP with 51-60 seats, AAP 10-19 seats, and no seats for Congress.
  • People’s Insight poll: BJP with 40-44 seats, AAP 25-29 seats, Congress with 0-1 seat.
  • WeePreside poll: AAP with 46-52 seats, BJP 18-23 seats, Congress with 0-1 seat.

The final results will be announced on February 8; AAP has dominated the last two Delhi assembly elections.
